Track record winning times at his last two starts has stamped Deploy has a serious sprinting talent. First to fall was the Randwick 1200m course record – significantly The Everest course – when Deploy clocked 1:08.06 in winning the Show County Quality.

He then ventured to Rosehill and lowered the 27-year old 1300m course record there in claiming the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes in 1:14.92 beating multiple Group 1 winner Egg Tart by four lengths.

Being trained at Rosehill was a major attraction for the group involved in champion trainer Chris Waller‘s slot. Of course, Waller also trains at Rosehill.

Deploy won’t race again until the Everest.

“He’s in devastating form. He’s run track records at his last two starts, times don’t lie the horse is flying and he’s come out of the race well,’’ trainer Gerald Ryan said.

“Five weeks between runs would be ideal for him coming off two hot races. The horse is in good form, he’s free in his action, you might never get another chance to get a crack at it.’’
